High School Student + Pizza = Ranch MIX

RanchMIX is open for all High School students. This is a FREE event held at the Waconia Pizza Ranch where pizza and pop flow freely. Come hang out with your friends and learn more about this faith journey we are all on. This year we will use the video series The Gospel Journey to begin our discussion.

What happens when you bring together seven unlikely strangers, throw them right in the middle of the Rocky Mountains and take them on a journey through the gospel message as it unfolds throughout the story of the Bible? Raw, real and riveting discussions, an emotional breakdown or two and a few shocking surprises!

This unscripted reality series unleashes seven very different students on one unforgettable quest, to understand the gospel message straight from the pages of Scripture. Youth evangelist Greg Stier uses extreme challenges like white water rafting and rock climbing along with powerful illustrations from nature and life to lead these teens on a journey toward Jesus in an edgy and relevant way.

Share Your Faith With Erin the Evolutionist

Erin the Evolutionist

Basic Description

Erin calls herself an atheistic evolutionist because she believes the human race evolved from less complex life forms as a result of random mutations over millions of years. Erin also believes that the either universe has always been around, or came about as a result of a huge cosmic ‘bang’. Atheistic evolutionists believe there was no Supreme Being or Intelligent Designer involved in the development of human life. Theistic evolutionists believe an Intelligent Designer played some role in the origin of human life.

Share Your Faith with Tara Typical

Tara the Typical

Basic Description

Tara the Typical holds to the same typical worldview as the majority of Americans. This typical worldview varies some with each individual, but at the core are several commonly held beliefs that were shaped from a variety of sources such as religious background, personal friends, school, entertainment choices (this is a huge factor) and family background. At the heart of Tara the Typical’s worldview is tolerance, individualism, self-expression, self-effort and self-gratification (can you say myspace.com!). Tolerance is the overriding principle that guides everything else in Tara’s mind, so she sees all religions, lifestyles, sexual preferences, etc. as equally valuable and valid.

Making Myspace - His Space!

salt N lightmyspace.com is in the news again these days. As controversial as it is, it has become the online hangout of well over 40 million users. Everyone from teens to marines are hanging out there. It has also become “the” place for bands to launch tour and album information.

I have a page myself - “mrstudentfire” I logged on so that I can check out what this culture is all about. I have seen many of you in the halls of myspace, some of you are even my friends. While there is much to debate on the merits of myspace, and I have a strong opinion about it, I’m not here to try to stop myspace. (And I will be the first to URGE you to get off of MySpace & Checkout SHOUTLIFE) I am however going to suggest that when you are online anywhere you sbould be salt and light.

Share Your Faith With … Marty Mormon

What Marty Believes

About Mormonism:

Marty believes that the Church of Latter Day Saints is the one and only true church on earth. He believes that the church became utterly corrupt soon after the Apostles, so God decided to restore the true church through Joseph Smith. Because of this, Marty believes all other denominations (Baptist, Lutheran, etc.) are false churches (in other words, not following God).

Why Do You Play Sports

salt N lightPeople play sports for many different reasons. Some people play for exercise, some play for fun, some play for glory, some play for money, some play to fit in with others. I have played sports my whole life, and I have had some great successes and some great failures. At some points in my life I have played for the different reasons listed above. As God has molded me and shaped me over the years of my life He has shown me something that is very important.

1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

What Do People Say When They See You

salt N light

The greatest single cause of Atheism in the world today, is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with there lips, and walk out the door and deny Him by there lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable. DC Talk, What If I Stumble

How do you act when you are on the field or on the court? Who is really watching anyway? I ask these questions to make you think about something, and that is that our actions and lifestyles are seen and scrutinized by so many more people then we know about. I want to tell you a story about the effect of someone’s actions. This is a true story that a pastor told me in a Sunday chapel service last year when I was playing for the State College Spikes.
