Making Myspace - His Space!
myspace.com is in the news again these days. As controversial as it is, it has become the online hangout of well over 40 million users. Everyone from teens to marines are hanging out there. It has also become “the” place for bands to launch tour and album information.
I have a page myself - “mrstudentfire” I logged on so that I can check out what this culture is all about. I have seen many of you in the halls of myspace, some of you are even my friends. While there is much to debate on the merits of myspace, and I have a strong opinion about it, I’m not here to try to stop myspace. (And I will be the first to URGE you to get off of MySpace & Checkout SHOUTLIFE) I am however going to suggest that when you are online anywhere you sbould be salt and light.
Why Do You Play Sports
People play sports for many different reasons. Some people play for exercise, some play for fun, some play for glory, some play for money, some play to fit in with others. I have played sports my whole life, and I have had some great successes and some great failures. At some points in my life I have played for the different reasons listed above. As God has molded me and shaped me over the years of my life He has shown me something that is very important.
1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
What Do People Say When They See You

The greatest single cause of Atheism in the world today, is Christians, who acknowledge Jesus with there lips, and walk out the door and deny Him by there lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable. – DC Talk, What If I Stumble
How do you act when you are on the field or on the court? Who is really watching anyway? I ask these questions to make you think about something, and that is that our actions and lifestyles are seen and scrutinized by so many more people then we know about. I want to tell you a story about the effect of someone’s actions. This is a true story that a pastor told me in a Sunday chapel service last year when I was playing for the State College Spikes.
How Does Our Band Live
Salt adds flavor and preserves food. Light displaces darkness so we can see. Salt and light bring out goodness, driving away rottenness and darkness.
How was Jesus salt and light while on earth? To the woman at the well he knew her past, but rather than condemn her he offered living water (John 4). He forgave Peter after denying him (John 21). He taught radical ideas that we should love our enemies (Matthew 5), and not judge others (Matthew 7). Even while dying an undeserved torturous death, he pleaded for forgiveness for those who killed him (Luke 23).
