Help Me Out

“I have absolutely nothing to wear!” is a complaint I have heard from many girls. Every time I hear it I can’t help but think, “Well please at least wear something!” And while I admit that my unspoken request has always been granted, I can’t say I’m always completely impressed

HABITS

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
If you have spent any time with StudentFire Youth Ministry over the years, this verse is no doubt familiar to you. Each time we gather for 180 Degree Worship we remind ourselves of this very important verse. Followed by the familiar refrain: “Jesus said it—I believe it—’nuf said!”

Spiritual HABITS

Another key component of StudentFire is our call to develop “Spiritual Habits.” I firmly believe our core statement about Habits:

“Who we are is determined by the grace and gifts of God we have been given, the habits we develop, and the commitments we make.”

Our current New Testament Challenge will touch on several of the Spiritual Habits. If you are new to the HABITS idea or need a refresher, the Habits are:

  • Hang Time With God—connecting to God through devotion & prayer
  • Accountability with other believers—connecting with faith filled peers
  • Bible Memorization—Making the Word of God part of your heart life
  • Involvement in the local church—Serving Christ/connecting with a church
  • Tithing—recognition of the many blessings of God and our response
  • Scripture Study—taking the time to dig deep into the depth of Scripture
