Background of Ablazing Faith

Our ministry of Confirmation finds its origins in the command of Jesus, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

Ablazing Faith is one way we are obedient to this command of Christ. This command from Christ came out of His deep love for us. It is out of that Love of Christ that we in turn love our children. We desire to see that faith given to them by the working of the Holy Spirit in their Baptism fanned into an Ablazing Faith that con-tinues to grow and draw others into the Kingdom of God.

Our Ablazing Faith Ministry is all about providing opportunities for students and families to grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. That is the purpose of our program. To achieve this goal we have a program that is made up of different class modules and requirements. It also involves family participation, which is vital in a child‘s faith journey. This program offers a family the choices and flexibility of going at their own pace to complete the program while placing a high value on commitment and follow through.

One of the interesting dynamics of this congregation is about half our students attend our day school and about half attend various other schools. While growing in a personal relationship with Jesus is our primary goal, we also strive to see students make connection with one another. Our Sunday morning growth opportunities, re-treats, and StudentFire 180 are designed to provide growth in faith and in relationship with others in the family of God.
